"The best decision I made while undergoing divorce was to hire Chikeersha.
I had narrowed my search down to two firms: Puvvada Law firm and a big law firm in Downtown Houston. During initial discussions (prior to picking one), I realized that Chikeersha was direct and did not paint any rosy pictures. On the other hand, the big law firm was giving vague answers and many assurances. While I was advised to hire a junior lawyer from a big firm (in order to get the experience at relatively low budget), I decided to go with my gut feeling. I picked Chikeersha.
As the divorce progressed, it became more and more clear that Chikeersha was a very unique lawyer. Often, I wondered how did he end up becoming a lawyer. Some of his traits are very much in conflict with my naive view of lawyers :) Let me give two examples to explain this.
i) His level of consciousness is profound. At one point, I wanted him to work on some documents so that we are ready to argue our case. Working on this document would have been very costly for me as it would have required a big time commitment from Chikeersha. When I talked to Chikeersha, he told me that this document is not required at this time and will cost me a lot. There is a possibility we might not need it. Hence, we should wait for the next step to happen, and if needed, he will work on it. He was darn right. After the next step, there was no need for the document. I was just blown over by his honesty and concern for clients.
ii) He is a no-nonsense guy and wants to keep focus on the main things. I realized the importance of this later on, even after the case was settled. Chikeersha did not want me to get all stressed out because of petty fights. He consistently kept reminding me of the big picture. At times, it did upset me because when you are going though such a big event day in and day out, small things do appear to become big. But, in hindsight, those issues were less significant and fighting for those would have made the entire process more bitter, exhausting and expensive.
As the case progressed, I and my family developed complete trust in Chikeersha. The case settled amicably, without much agony and expense. Being a devoted dad, I ended up getting 50% child custody. I cannot thank and recommend Chikeersha enough!"
